Since the operator FoodVentures took over the keys to the greenhouse in Frövi, a lot has happened. One of the biggest milestones is that the 250,000 tomato plants that will become 8,000 tons of locally produced tomatoes over the next year have now been planted.
The greenhouse and tomatoes will be heated with surplus heat supplied by the nearby factory in a circular system. This means that tomatoes can be harvested from the greenhouse all year round and the tomatoes from Frövi will cover approximately 1/10 of Sweden’s total tomato consumption.
